Leonid Padun: "2012 - the year of humility"

God has good plans for Ukraine

We live in a wonderful country - Ukraine. No matter what the ethnic origin we have but the people among whom we live is our nation. The pluses and minuses, joys and sorrows of Ukraine are all ours.

Unfortunately, today Ukraine is like a sick woman and this "disease" progresses. Perhaps it has not yet touched everyone, but sooner or later all will experience the negative that happens in our country and it is important for us not to live in a world of illusions.

The only thing that makes me happy and brings comfort is that God does care! There is no His will for the old people to be deprived of a livelihood and housing, or for people to lose their jobs or labor for peanuts becoming slaves in their own country. God is against when people are dying and going to hell, when churches are forbidden to preach the Gospel freely.

God has good intentions for Ukraine and He gave us the word that Ukraine will be a spiritual and a breadbasket of the world!

Unfortunately, not everyone wants this to happen. There is the devil, who opposes and is doing everything possible to frustrate God's plans. He has his own people dedicated to him and to carrying out his will.

But God is looking for people who are dedicated to Him and ready to do what He wants!

God always cooperates with a man

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).

God wants to heal our land and our people, but He does nothing in this world without people. There is always a need in those with whom He may cooperate. God needed Noah to save mankind in the days of the Flood. God needed Moses to save the Israelites from slavery and He needed Joshua to gain the Promised Land. Without Mary there would not be the birth of God's Son, Jesus Christ in this world! God always needs people, who are ready to follow Him, pay the price and humble themselves before Him.

Humility is not a weakness and passivity. Humility is the ability to do what God has said, despite all the circumstances and people's opinions. The real humility means "to stand" on the Word of God and live according to His Word.

Once the prophet Elijah said to King Ahab: "As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word" (1 Kings 17:1). One may call these words defiant and arrogant, but Elijah just said to the king what God has said and he was not ashamed! Nine hundred false prophets with all the power and people on their side were defeated, but Elijah brought fire to the altar by the word of the Lord and everyone saw on whose side God was. In the end, it all happened as Elijah said and it started to rain only by his word.

Humility is a powerful force that allows God to act on the earth wonderfully. When God's people bow before Him, then something starts to happen: at first in the Church, and then all over the world.

I believe that now God needs us more than ever before. Something great and good is to happen in Ukraine. But whether we can be that nation whom God expects in 2012?

Each of us has own concerns, interests and lives. But whether we can be those people who like the prophet Isaiah will say to God: "Here am I, send me! If I can somehow influence on everything that happens around me I give my heart to You, Lord!"

I believe that Ukraine is worthy of a better life and there is God's way how to change everything. If only we agree to cooperate with God then all things are possible!

Before the destruction of Sodom for all the evil and wickedness, God told Abraham that if there are at least ten righteous men in the city, He would preserve it from destruction. As long as there are righteous men in Ukraine, people willing to follow Christ and keep to His Word, there is a future for our country!

I believe in good change. I believe that Ukraine will be washed not by the blood of the victims of political conflicts, but by the precious blood of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. If only we, the people of God, humble ourselves and look for His face, our country will change and a good word about Ukraine will be fulfilled!
