Patriarch Filaret visited Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church

On the 10th June a friendly meeting of Patriarch Filaret, the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate, with parishioners of the Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church took place at the “Word of life” Bible Institute in Donetsk.
The meeting was held during the visit of Patriarch Filaret in Donetsk region to consecrate an Orthodox Church and the diocesan administration of UOC-KP. At the end of the ceremony the Patriarch attended a press conference and then the delegation of the Orthodox clergy visited the local congregation of the Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church at an invitation of its Senior Bishop Leonid Padun.
In his address to the believers Patriarch Filaret thanked for the invitation and expressed his hopes for further positive development of inter-confessional relations in Ukraine. The Head of the UOC-KP also spoke on the key role of the Christian Church in reviving of spirituality in Ukraine touching upon the urgent moral issues of the modern society.
The meeting was marked by a warm, friendly atmosphere. After the meeting the Patriarch gave an exclusive interview followed by a reception and fellowship with the church ministers.
